He emphasized that this initiative is not a one-time event but will be part of a continuous program under his leadership, with regular screenings planned for all officers.

“During my tenure, officers will receive routine check-ups. This is not a one-off effort. After each session, we will take intervals before continuing, as health concerns can emerge at any time,” he explained.

Sanusi mentioned that the intervals between screenings could occur either bi-monthly or quarterly, based on medical professionals’ advice.

Furthermore, he indicated that the command is already collecting valuable data from the assessments to enhance welfare planning and support systems for officers.

“I’m pleased with the progress. The data we are obtaining will facilitate better planning and support for our personnel,” he added.

The assessments started with officers from the Metro Area Command and will later extend to other commands throughout the FCT, including Life Camp, Kubwa, and Kuje.

To address any concerns from the officers, the commissioner noted that a sensitization effort has been made to clarify the purpose of the initiative.

“The aim is not punitive. We are not here to humiliate, degrade, or disgrace anyone,” he reassured.

He also stressed that all results will be kept private, adhering to medical ethics, and that individual outcomes will not be disclosed within the command.
