Lagos State govt alerts Ajah residents towards security threats

The Lagos State government has informed residents of the Ajah area about potential security threats due to various attempts to disturb law and order in the region.

In a statement from Mr. Bolaji Kayode Robert, the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Rural Development, the government urged residents to uphold peace and order in the community.

“Owing to recent intelligence reports from security operatives within the Ajah area of Lagos, the State Government has been alerted to attempts by certain non-state actors to instigate a breakdown of law and order in the axis. It is important to emphasise that the State Government is fully aware of the issues within the Ajah Community and is committed to resolving the issues peacefully and equitably”, the statement reads.

The statement added; “The Government, therefore, advises residents, stakeholders, and the general public in Ajah to refrain from any actions or activities capable of fueling unrest or disrupting public peace. In line with this, security agencies have been directed to maintain strict vigilance, prevent any breach of law and order, and carry out thorough investigations aimed at arresting and prosecuting any individual or group of persons found culpable, in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Lagos State.”

The Lagos State Government, led by Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, reaffirms its strong dedication to maintaining peace, security, and order not only in Ajah, but throughout the entire State.
