The governor said he had received a preliminary report from his Special Adviser on Security Matters and subsequently ordered a State Security Council meeting for Monday to deliberate on the Akinlalu incident and other emerging threats, including fears of a spillover from recent banditry attacks in Kwara State.

“I am a rule of law Governor. This matter is being investigated and any infraction will be dealt with within the context of the law,” Adeleke stated. “I urge the good people of Akinlalu to remain calm as our government acts on the matter. I feel their pains but investigations are ongoing.”

Members of the delegation expected to visit Akinlalu include the Special Adviser on Security Matters, the Commissioner for Information, the Commissioner for Political Affairs, the Commissioner for Transportation, the Attorney General, the Special Adviser on Legal Matters, and service chiefs from various security agencies.

Governor Adeleke extended his condolences to the bereaved families, praying for divine comfort and assuring residents that justice would prevail once the investigation is concluded.
