The program, which has supported high-achieving young Africans since 2014, entered a new phase in late 2023 with expanded support for the continent’s next generation of leaders.

Eligibility and Requirements
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be citizens of an African country
- Demonstrate financial need
- Possess outstanding academic records
- Show leadership potential and commitment to community service and Africa’s development
Important Note: Applicants must first apply for admission to the University of Pretoria before submitting their scholarship application. Only students with provisional admission will be considered.
Application Deadlines for 2027 Intake
- Undergraduate programs: August 31, 2026
- Postgraduate (Honours & Master’s): September 30, 2026
