Ex-Senator Elisha Abbo in Police custody over alleged rape of minor

Former Senator Elisha Abbo is currently in police custody due to accusations of raping a 13-year-old secondary school student.

The girl’s parents revealed to reporters that Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed (Binani), who previously ran for governor in Adamawa State, came to their home to urge them to keep the scandal quiet. They also claimed that Abbo had sent money to the girl’s father multiple times, which they interpreted as attempts to silence them regarding the incident.

As of now, the ex-lawmaker is still under detention at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID).

This isn’t the first time Abbo has found himself in a controversial situation. In 2019, he was filmed assaulting a woman in an Abuja sex toy shop, which led to his arrest. More recently, he faced accusations of blackmail related to a married woman and an alleged sexual tape.
