Former BBNaija Housemate Urges Fans to Look Beyond Romance and Drama

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Adekunle has voiced his frustration with fans of the reality show, urging them to focus on the broader entertainment value rather than just romantic relationships and love triangles.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Adekunle, who was a contestant in a previous season, warned that the current season’s potential is being overshadowed by a narrow focus on “ships” and relationship drama.

“You guys aren’t enjoying this show and it sucks,” he wrote. “Instead of updates on the pool party or wager presentation, all I see is talk about alleged ships, potential ships, and drama within triangles.”

Adekunle pointed out that the show, which features 26 housemates, offers a wide range of personalities and talents. While he acknowledges that relationships can add to the storyline, he emphasized they are just one part of the game. He reminded viewers that much of what they see is strategic, with housemates playing roles to improve their chances of winning.

By fixating on a handful of romantic dynamics, he argued, fans risk missing out on what could be one of the best seasons yet. He called on the audience to embrace the full Big Brother Naija experience, from the weekly tasks and games to the parties and presentations.

“Let’s enjoy the show in its entirety,” he said. “Don’t make these housemates pretend just to satisfy the fans. This season has great potential—let’s not reduce it to just romance.”
