Gabby Allen calls ‘Celebrity SAS’ Finale “8 Hours of Torture”

Gabby Allen

Gabby Allen, Dani Dyer, and Emily Seebohm have emerged as the winners of this season’s Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, marking the second time in the show’s history that an all-female lineup has passed the selection process.

The trio endured a brutal finale that included eight hours of noise torture, a strip search, intense interrogations, and water torture before being declared the winners. Their victory came after the remaining male contestants, Mack Horton and Ben Cohen, voluntarily withdrew during the punishing noise torture phase.

In an exclusive interview, Gabby Allen reflected on the gruelling experience and the resilience of her fellow female finalists.

“I’m just so proud of us,” Allen said. “Women are so resilient with everything that we do. We go through so much, so I think we already have it built into us to just keep pushing that bit further.”

The final challenge pushed the celebrities to their absolute limits. The noise torture segment, which Allen revealed lasted for eight hours, featured a relentless barrage of sounds, including baby cries, animal noises, and the scraping of metal chairs. She explained that the uncertainty of the task was a major factor in why others quit.

“The men did really well, but the problem with the noise torture is that you just don’t know when it’s going to end,” she stated. “You go into a meditative state because you just get used to it, but it’s the stress positions that actually end up being the hardest part about it.”

Allen, who has scoliosis and metal rods in her back, found the physical demands particularly challenging. “For me, the lying-on-the-back position… for so long was hard,” she admitted. “I think that probably just took its toll on the guys.”

The entire final task spanned 36 hours, leaving the contestants sleep-deprived and in a state of shock. Allen described the difficulty of readjusting to normal life after the intense ordeal.

“When it finished, I was just in awe of us making it to the end… but I was in a state of shock because I couldn’t believe what we’d just been through,” she recalled. “It took me a good week or so to actually open messages from the interrogators. You’re still on edge… your cortisol levels are still through the roof.”

Despite the hardship, she now considers it “the best experience I’ve ever done.”

During the show, Allen also opened up about the loss of her father, explaining that the high-pressure environment of the interrogation room brought those emotions to the surface unexpectedly.

“It was a huge part of my life and it’s really shaped who I am as a person,” she shared. “When you go into those mirror rooms with the DS, you don’t actually know what’s going to come out of your mouth… it enabled me to make sense of it in my head as well as to what does drive me and what motivates me.”

Montana Brown has opened up about her motivations for joining the gruelling reality show Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, explaining her desire to challenge the public’s perception of her as just another “Love Island girl.”

“I mean, it’s not something we haven’t heard before, and I get it,” she acknowledged. “People say that people who go on Love Island, we’re all the same kettle of fish, but I think the whole reason for me going on the show was to showcase a side of me that people haven’t seen.”

While proud of her reality TV origins and the opportunities it provided, including the platform to join SAS, Brown was determined to prove her depth. “The whole reason for doing the show was to prove that I have more about me than just being essentially a Love Island girl,” she stated.

An Immersive and Relentless Experience

Reflecting on the process, Brown was most surprised by its sheer intensity. “From the word ‘go,’ there’s no slacking, you don’t have a cup of tea in between tasks,” she explained. “I thought we might do an abseil and when you get to the bottom they bully you for a little bit and then you’d have a break.”

The constant pressure left a lasting impression. “My cortisol levels were through the roof the whole time because you’re constantly on edge as you never know when you’re going to get called out,” she said. The eight-day ordeal gave her immense respect for the Special Forces, who live that reality year-round.

Lasting Impact and Unseen Moments

Like other contestants, Brown felt the physical and mental effects long after filming. A trip to Ibiza a week later felt “very overstimulated,” but she has since channelled the experience into a new level of personal drive. “The main thing I’ve taken from it is I push myself so much harder with everything that I do,” she revealed. “Especially with training, if I want to give up, even my friends will say, ‘You just did SAS. You can do this!'”

Despite the on-screen hardship, Brown insists there were lighter moments in camp, thanks to the humour of fellow recruits like Cole, Jack, and Graham Swann. She also expressed a wish that some of her personal triumphs had made the final cut.

“There was one [task] where we had to carry all the ammo up and basically free climb up a mountain. And that was so challenging,” she recalled. “But I loved it! I got in the car afterwards and I was like, ‘Wow, I can’t believe we’ve just done that.’ I wish that I could get all the raw footage of me, you know, rock climbing, because that would be sick to watch back.”
