Abba Atiku, the son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), asserting that no political party or individual can defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking in Yola on Monday, Abba finalized his APC membership by collecting his registration card at the Gwadabawa Ward in the Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

“I want to make it very clear that nobody or any political party can stop President Bola Tinubu from returning to Aso Rock come 2027,” Abba stated. “Nigerians have seen his good work; he is not a tribalist, he doesn’t make appointments based on religion or region, but his decisions are purely on merit.”
Abba cited the “massive human and infrastructural development” across Nigeria under President Tinubu’s leadership as a key motivator for his move to the APC.
“The president needs your support to continue with the good work,” he urged. “We should mobilize more people, even beyond party affiliations, to support our president.”
Alhaji Isa Bagalti, the APC Zonal Vice Chairman for Adamawa Central, presented the membership card to Abba and remarked that the defection dispels any speculation about the APC’s chances in the upcoming election.
“It is now clear to people that there is no party in Nigeria or presidential candidate that can face our president at the polls come 2027,” Bagalti said.

Echoing this sentiment, prominent Adamawa APC chieftain Alhaji Jamil Yusuf declared that President Tinubu has no credible rivals for the next presidential race, dismissing other potential candidates as “wishful thinkers” who lack the necessary credentials.
“The majority of those saying they are going to contest for the office of president see politics as a trade fair venue, where people sell and buy,” Yusuf commented. “I advise such people to invest their money in profitable ventures because the office of the president is no longer for the highest bidder, but for competent people like President Tinubu.”

This development contrasts with the political alignment of Abba’s brother, Adamu Atiku, who is a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and currently serves as the Commissioner for Works and Energy Development in Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s administration.
Meanwhile, their father, Atiku Abubakar, is a presidential aspirant under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), with none of his sons currently affiliated with him in that party.
