Addressing the beneficiaries, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, emphasised that the outreach, though modest, carries a profound message of care and recognition.
“Today’s gesture of support implies that you are seen, valued, and are never alone,” Hon. Olowa said.
He further commended the Grace Given Widows Charity Foundation and its founder, Mrs Victoria Adenaike, for providing not only material aid but also a sanctuary where widows can find strength, encouragement, and the tools to rebuild their lives with dignity.

In her remarks, Mrs. Victoria Adenaike, Executive Director of Grace Given Widows Charity Foundation, praised the collaboration and described widows as the often-overlooked backbone of communities.
“Widows are the unsung pillars of our society, often bearing the brunt of loss and economic challenges. This partnership with Ibeju-Lekki Local Government is a testament to what we can achieve when compassion meets action,” she noted.
Renewed Hope Cash Transfer Announced
At the event, which took place at the Ibeju-Lekki LG Secretariat, beneficiaries received food items and financial support from both the Local Government and the NGO.

The aid is expected to help address immediate needs and even support small business start-ups.
Hon. Olowa also used the occasion to announce the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer Programme, a new welfare initiative of his administration that will provide financial support to widows and other vulnerable residents for a period of six months.
The event reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to social welfare and inclusivity while showcasing the power of collaboration between government and civil society.
