In a lengthy Instagram post via her handle @soft\_commy, Emmanson claimed that the confrontation began when she struggled to switch off one of her phones during pre-flight checks.
What Ibom Air passenger Comfort Emmanson said
According to her, the device had a faulty power button, and although a fellow passenger assisted her in turning it off, the flight attendant, identified as Julian Edwards, allegedly threatened her, saying: “You will see.”

The situation, she said, escalated upon arrival in Lagos. Emmanson alleged that the hostess blocked her from disembarking, insulted her by calling her a “prostitute,” and later attacked her physically.
“She pushed me inside, dragged my wig, cut off my gold chain, and in the process, my phones fell and got damaged,” Emmanson recounted.

She continued, “She inflicted so much pain on me. Anyone who has fixed a frontal wig knows how painful it is to have it pulled off forcefully.”
The young woman further alleged that she was overpowered by other crew members and security staff, who surrounded her while videos of the struggle were recorded and later circulated online. These clips, she lamented, worsened her ordeal by exposing parts of her body.
“The trauma is just too much. I cannot even go out again. Some people have even used my images as stickers. Imagine going for a work interview or trying to sell property as a real estate agent, and people are focused on my body instead of my business,” she said.

Emmanson added that she has been mocked on social media and left “bruised and humiliated,” insisting she is “not a troublesome person or a nuisance” and that she had, in fact, complied with the flight rules.
The incident, which sparked widespread debate, had earlier led to Ibom Air banning Emmanson from future flights, though the ban was later lifted after public backlash.
