INEC refutes viral Lagos APC candidates list, advises against false election notice 

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has dismissed a fake public notice circulating on social media that purports to list candidates from the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Federal House of Representatives elections in Lagos State for the upcoming 2027 General Election.

In a statement on its verified X account, INEC characterized the notice as fraudulent, deceptive, and completely unauthorized, emphasizing that it did not come from the Commission.

INEC noted that it had been alerted to the misinformation falsely portraying itself as an official announcement regarding APC candidates for the House of Representatives elections in Lagos State.

The Commission firmly denied any connection to the document and urged Nigerians to ignore it.

“To clarify, the Commission has neither authorized nor issued any such notice,” INEC stated.

Additionally, INEC explained that the document did not originate from any of its recognized channels or established protocols, highlighting that the signature on the notice was forged and not that of the Commission’s Secretary.
