U.S. President Donald Trump announced his death on his Truth Social platform on Saturday, February 28, 2026.

In his statement, Trump described Khamenei as “one of the most evil people in History” and declared his death as “Justice for the people of Iran” and for Americans affected by Iran-backed actions.
According to the U.S. president, the operation was carried out with advanced intelligence and in close coordination with Israel, claiming Iranian leadership had no way of escaping the strikes.

“This is the single greatest chance for the Iranian people to take back their Country,” Trump wrote, urging Iranians to seize the moment.
He also claimed that factions within Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), as well as parts of the military and police, were seeking immunity and were no longer prepared to continue fighting.
“The heavy and pinpoint bombing will continue… as long as necessary to achieve our objective of peace throughout the Middle East and, indeed, the world,” he said.
Satellite images circulating online showed visible damage to a compound in Tehran linked to Khamenei.
As of press time, Iranian authorities have yet to release a detailed official statement clarifying the circumstances surrounding the reported death of Khamenei, while international observers say the situation remains fluid.

Meanwhile, tensions have escalated across the region. Reports indicate Iran launched retaliatory attacks in parts of the Middle East, including areas hosting U.S. military bases or allied governments.
More than 200 people have reportedly been killed across Iran, according to the Iranian Red Crescent.
