In an episode on the Talk True Podcast, “Batified or Obidient 2027 in view,’’ John CDO claimed that Kanu approached Obi for help to fund his heart surgery but was turned down. According to him, Obi told Kanu that such a cause was not something he was willing to spend his money on.

Following this, John CDO said Kanu sought assistance from former Lagos State Governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who he claims eventually covered the medical expenses for the operation.

“When Kanu Nwankwo had a heart problem, Peter Obi was one of the first people Kanu approached to pay for his surgery. Peter Obi told him that that is not what he will use his money for. Kanu then came to Lagos State to meet Bola Tinubu, a Yoruba man, and Tinubu paid for his surgery.” John CDO said.

John also questioned the authenticity of Obi’s current philanthropic efforts, particularly his donations to hospitals across the country. He suggested these acts are not driven by compassion but by political ambition.
