The Lagos Voice reports that Obi took to his official X page to lament on the rampant vote buying and selling that allegedly took place during the elections.
His message read in part, βThe True Cost of Selling and Buying Votes Vote-buying is one of the greatest dangers confronting our democracy. It is never an act of kindness; it is a calculated investment in corruption. Those who buy votes do so with only one intention, to gain access to public funds. By bribing voters today, they are purchasing a licence to plunder tomorrow. And when they get into office, the money meant for schools, hospitals, roads, and jobs is diverted into private pockets. Such people are not leaders, they are looters.β
Obi added that buying and selling of votes robs society of dignity, development and life itself. He condemned the act in the strongest terms, saying,

βWhen you exchange your ballot for money or material gain, you are not just selling a vote, you are selling your future. You are selling away the schools your children should attend, the hospitals that should save lives, and the jobs that should lift families out of poverty. In truth, you mortgage your tomorrow for a token that can not sustain you today.β
Reacting to Obiβs post, Omokri slammed him for his indecisiveness in staying in one party. Recall that Peter Obi’s fate is unknown as he has been seen in the company of some members of the ADC coalition. He was also seen a few days before the bye-election in Anambra campaigning for the ADC candidate while still being in the Labour Party.
Omokri wrote on his X page, βDear Peter, Address this sanctimonious hypocrisy to one of your parties (you are a politician in two parties) that was caught red-handed thumb printing ballot papers. Peter, you and your party lost. Nigeria rejected the ADC and the Labour Party during this weekend’s by-election. Your Obidient movement is a spent tribal force of Rudapests that cannot even power you to victory in your own constituency in Onitsha, which you lost to APGA. You and your ADC are the change Nigeria does not need!β
