The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State has accused law enforcement agencies of trying to interfere with an opposition gathering held at its headquarters located at No. 04 Ali Akilu Road, Kaduna.
In a statement from its Publicity Secretary, Darius Kurah, the ADC voiced its apprehension regarding the diminishing political environment in the state, alleging that opposition groups are being restricted from exercising their rights to meet and organize.

Kurah pointed out that from 2013 to 2015, when the All Progressives Congress (APC) was in opposition to the then-governing Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), their meetings occurred without interruptions.
He also highlighted that during the leadership of former governor Malam Nasir El-Rufai, opposition activities were allowed to proceed without hindrance.
“What kind of political atmosphere exists in Kaduna State where an opposition party is prohibited from convening at its own venue, with security forces dispatched to interrupt?”
The ADC emphasised that political intimidation would not alter democratic process, insisting on fundamental rights.
