The Kwara state government has pronounced its commitment to providing the Common Entrance Examination free of charge for all eligible pupils and directed public primary and junior secondary schools to fully comply with the policy.

While speaking with journalists, the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr Lawal Olohungbebe, restated the government’s position.
He explained that the examination is fully funded by the state government and that no fees have been approved for participating pupils.
Dr Olohungbebe pleaded with principals and head teachers to ensure that no unauthorised charges are collected from parents or guardians under any guise during the examination process.

According to the commissioner, the government expects school administrators to uphold public confidence by ensuring that every eligible child sits for the examination free of charge.
He added that the administration remains committed to transparency, accountability and equitable access to education, warning that any reported violations would be investigated and dealt with in accordance with established regulations.
In his words, he encouraged the school administrators to maintain the highest standards of integrity throughout the examination process, reaffirming the government’s commitment to credible, fair and malpractice-free assessments across the state’s education system.
