The meeting focused on building a collaborative framework that will provide Ibeju-Lekki youths with the skills, knowledge, and support required to succeed in an increasingly competitive and technology-driven economy.

As Ibeju-Lekki continues to experience rapid industrial and economic expansion, the local government is seeking innovative ways to ensure that residents, particularly young people, are positioned to benefit from the transformation taking place across the region.

Speaking during the engagement, Hon. Olowa emphasised that major investments and infrastructural developments across the Ibeju-Lekki corridor have created new opportunities that require a workforce equipped with relevant skills.

According to the chairman, sustainable economic growth can only be achieved when local youths possess the competencies necessary to participate actively in the changing labour market.

He noted that preparing young people for future opportunities is no longer optional but essential for inclusive development and long-term prosperity.

The proposed Career Accelerator Programme is expected to serve as a comprehensive platform that addresses the gap between formal education and workforce requirements.

Under the initiative, participants will receive training in key areas such as digital literacy, entrepreneurship, financial management, communication, career development, and employability skills.

The programme is also expected to integrate technology-driven learning, mentorship opportunities, industry engagement sessions, practical workshops, and career counselling services.

Stakeholders believe these components will help participants gain practical experience while developing the confidence needed to navigate modern workplaces and entrepreneurial ventures.
