This intensive program aims to equip young people with practical, income-generating skills in areas such as CCTV installation, solar panel setup, security fencing systems, and automated door technology, fields that are growing in demand within Nigeria’s expanding tech and construction sectors.

During the unveiling of the initiative, Hon. Adebowale Adebayo Falana, Chairman of the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his “visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to youth empowerment through skill acquisition and entrepreneurship.”

Falana emphasised that the program aligns with the state government’s broader agenda to provide young people with the necessary tools to become self-sufficient and competitive in a rapidly evolving job market.

“This training is not just about learning a trade,” Falana noted. “It is about creating opportunities for our youths to become employers of labour and contributors to Oyo State’s economic growth. Governor Makinde’s administration understands that empowering young people with practical skills means empowering the future of our state.”

Hon. Adeniyi Olabode Adebisi, Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment, and Cooperatives, also spoke about the collaboration between the two agencies, describing it as a “forward-thinking partnership” that reflects the government’s commitment to sustainable development through innovation and entrepreneurship.

“The Oyo State government is focused on building a workforce that is skilled, creative, and productive,” Adebisi stated. “This partnership will not only help reduce youth unemployment but also drive industrial growth and technological advancement within the state.”

Participants in the training will engage in both theoretical sessions and hands-on workshops facilitated by experienced professionals in each technical field. At the end of the program, outstanding trainees are expected to receive starter kits and mentorship support to help them launch their businesses.
