He alleged widespread irregularities across Lagos, calling the outcome a betrayal of grassroots democracy.
Adegbesan accused the APC-led government and LASIEC of colluding to manipulate results using violence, intimidation, and electoral sabotage.
“PDP strongholds across the state… pre‑thumbprinted ballots were delivered in bags,” he said, adding that “LASIEC has lost its moral and constitutional right to act as a neutral electoral umpire.”

The PDP says it has compiled video evidence, eyewitness statements, and financial irregularities which it will use to legally challenge the results.
“We will not recognise this fraudulent election or its purported winners,” Adegbesan declared.
“We are committed to fighting for electoral integrity and restoring the people’s voice.”
He further called on the National Assembly to reform local electoral bodies, emphasizing that what happened transcended party politics.
LP, YPP, and others echo the rejection
At the same conference, leaders representing Labour Party (LP), Young Progressives Party (YPP), African Action Congress (AAC), Action People’s Party (APP), and the Accord Party voiced identical concerns.

LP State Chairperson, Pastor Dayo Ekong (via deputy Olasupo Ajayi), called the poll a “state-sponsored rape of democracy.”
“The just‑concluded Local Government elections were not an exercise in democratic choice; they were a premeditated, meticulously executed charade designed solely to impose the ruling party’s will.”
YPP’s Olusegun Mobolaji emphasised the dysfunctional pre-election environment, “The process that led to this poll was full of irregularities… some parties got nomination forms just two days before election day.”

APC responds
The APC dismissed the opposition’s accusations as denial of political reality.
Their spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, described the results as a resounding victory, reflecting Lagosians’ renewed confidence in their leadership.
