The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Gombe State, Dr Sa’ad Umar Idris, has commended members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) INEC Community Development Service (CDS) Group, popularly known as INEC Ambassadors, for their active roles in sensitising the public on the electoral process.

Idris made the commendation during his speech at the flag-off ceremony for the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) sensitisation activities in the state, held on Thursday, 18th September 2025, at the State Office. He praised the Corps members for their commitment to national development.

The REC also revealed that the sensitisation campaign would feature a series of activities designed to deepen voter awareness. These include road shows, market outreach across the state’s 11 Local Government Areas, sensitisation in places of worship, and voter education programs on the radio. Following the flag-off, staff of the Voter Education and Publicity Department, alongside the INEC Ambassadors, took to major streets and busy areas within the state capital to engage residents and distribute flyers on the CVR exercise.
