On Monday, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, officially swore in Hon. Olufemi Akanbi Okeowo as the Chairman of the Ifelodun Local Council Development Area (LCDA), encouraging him to remain dedicated to grassroots governance.
Governor Sanwo-Olu urged Okeowo, who is beginning his second term, to collaborate closely with stakeholders to achieve outcomes that will enhance the lives of local residents.

Okeowo was elected during the council elections on Saturday, July 12, but was unable to be sworn in with other elected officials on Sunday, July 27 due to health issues. He has since recovered and is ready to lead the governance in Ifelodun LCDA.
During the swearing-in ceremony held at Lagos House, Ikeja, Governor Sanwo-Olu called on all government officials to provide Okeowo with the necessary support to fulfill his duties.
He stated, “We are encouraged by his strong performance during his first term in this local government, and we believe that he has the capability to achieve even more in this second term.
