Suspected gunmen invade Immigration office in Ogbomoso, cart away firearms

Suspected gunmen allegedly attacked the Nigeria Immigration Service office in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, on Tuesday night, stealing firearms from the officers on duty.

The incident reportedly took place around 10:00 p.m. at the immigration office situated along the Ogbomoso-Ilorin Motorway, near the NNPC filling station.

According to sources, the attackers raided the facility while business was still active at the nearby Ayanyan Cattle Market. During the assault, the officers on duty were said to have been overpowered and stripped of their weapons.

The precise number of firearms taken by the assailants has not yet been confirmed. Following the incident, the gunmen reportedly escaped into the night.

In response to the situation, the Oyo State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, mentioned that he had not received an official report on the matter. “I have not been briefed on the incident at this time. I will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available,” he stated.

At the time of this report, security officials had not issued any official comment, and efforts were ongoing to clarify the details of the attack and locate those responsible.
