The Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, CON, has conducted an inspection of Section 4 of the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway in Ondo State as the Federal Government ramps up efforts to ensure the project’s timely completion.
Umahi was accompanied by members of the National Assembly Committee on Works and the Presidential Community Engagement Team during the visit.

The engagement team featured Hon. Moremi Ojudu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (South West); Dr. Abiodun Essiet (North Central); Hon. Abdullahi Tanko Yakasai (North West); Hon. Chioma Nweze (South East); and Hon. Dr. Gift Johnbull (South-South).

Afterward, the team moved to Lagos to discuss plans for service lanes along the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway.
These proposed service lanes are intended to assist drivers in navigating the highway more effectively while ensuring access to adjacent areas throughout the construction period.

Additionally, drainage channels along the impacted routes were inspected, and new sites were identified for drainage infrastructure to promote efficient water flow and mitigate flood risks.
