He cautioned members against actions that could undermine the party’s leadership or create discord, even while supporting their preferred aspirants. The governor explained that the stakeholders’ meeting was established to foster engagement, gather feedback, and promote collaboration while reviewing the state’s political and developmental progress.
Detailing his administration’s achievements, Aiyedatiwa noted significant efforts in the health sector, including the renovation of multiple facilities and the provision of standby ambulances in every local government area. He also confirmed that development projects are being distributed equitably across all local councils to ensure balanced growth.
In a key update, the governor announced that the Federal Government has approved the revalidation of Ondo State’s deep seaport license after correcting errors in the initial registration that did not properly reflect the state’s identity.
Earlier in the meeting, the state APC Chairman, Ade Adetimehin, represented by Vice Chairman Atili Agabra, praised the forum as an opportunity for direct engagement between party members and the governor. He commended the administration for its youth employment initiatives and its unprecedented level of engagement with various party organs.
Isaac Kekemeke, the APC National Vice Chairman for the South-West, reaffirmed Governor Aiyedatiwa’s position as the party’s leader in Ondo State. While acknowledging other influential figures, Kekemeke identified the governor as the primary mobilizer for President Tinubu’s second-term campaign in the state.
“The President has confidence in APC governors nationwide,” Kekemeke said, describing Aiyedatiwa as a loyal supporter and a key figure for Tinubu’s campaign in Ondo.
Kekemeke also observed that much of the criticism directed at the government originates from within the APC, suggesting that opposition parties like the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party no longer pose a significant threat in the state. He encouraged the governor to continue accommodating diverse interests and to lead the charge for unity ahead of future political contests.
