He condemned President Tinubu’s recent remark that insecurity would not compel him to resign, labeling it as insensitive. Atiku remarked that it is not political adversaries who will assess this government, but rather the blood of innocent Nigerians that is being spilled daily. He emphasized that such bloodshed is more significant than any political assertion.

Atiku expressed horror at the idea that the tragic deaths of citizens due to the government’s inability to provide adequate security are being trivialized in political discourse.

Commenting on the government’s response to violence, he found it troubling that serious incidents have not received the empathy or recognition they require from top officials, while the ensuing loss of life is framed as a matter of political maneuvering.

He attributed the growing discontent with leadership to deteriorating living conditions, stating that the rising cost of living, reckless financial policies, and pervasive insecurity are the primary reasons for the declining faith among Nigerians. He asserted that leadership should earn trust rather than demand it.

Atiku also cautioned against efforts to suppress dissent, stating that attempts to intimidate or silence the opposition cannot restore a government that has not instilled confidence.

He concluded that no amount of distraction or coercion can change the realities faced by Nigerians. He urged the federal government to swiftly enhance its security measures and prioritize the protection of lives over political interests.
