Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has announced an increment in the monthly allowance for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in the state, from ₦20,000 to ₦30,000.

Making Adamawa a Corps-Friendly State – Finitri urges Corps Members
Dressed in full NYSC attire, Governor Fintiri stated that the decision is part of his administration’s broader efforts to enhance the welfare of corps members and create a conducive environment for national service.

“We remain committed to enhancing the welfare of corps members. This new allowance reflects our desire to make Adamawa a friendly and supportive place for national service,” Fintiri declared.
He also revealed that plans are underway for the construction of a modern NYSC camp, instructing that corps members with professional experience in architecture, civil engineering, and quantity surveying be actively involved in the supervision of the project.
Support from Government Officials and NYSC Leadership
Barr. Wali Yakubu, Commissioner for Youths and Chairman of the NYSC Governing Board in the state, commended the governor’s initiative.
He urged corps members to embrace the orientation program, adhere to camp rules, and utilise skill acquisition opportunities for self-reliance.
In her address, NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Osoro Caroline, praised the new corps members for their discipline and commitment, stating that the orientation course is designed to prepare them physically, mentally, and emotionally for their national assignment.

She also hailed Governor Fintiri for his consistent support of the NYSC, describing him as a “visionary leader and strong advocate of youth empowerment.”
Corps Members Urged to Be Responsible Ambassadors
Governor Fintiri congratulated the new corps members for completing their academic journeys and officially welcomed them to Adamawa State.

He urged them to serve responsibly, foster strong relationships with their host communities, and play their roles as key agents in policy implementation, especially in the education sector.
“During your service year, you are to act as responsible citizens of Adamawa State—display discipline, support your host communities, and build meaningful relationships,” he advised.
