The arrests were made by the newly established Environmental Task Force on Waste Policing, a unit created to combat indiscriminate waste disposal across the local government area.

 

The Chairman of the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, stated that the operation is part of a broader strategy to maintain a clean and healthy environment for residents.

In a recent statement, the Chairman declared, “In line with enforcing zero tolerance to waste dumping on the highway of our roads in ibeju-lekki, the environmental task force on waste policing arrested some defaulters dumping refuse.”

 

The “zero tolerance” policy signifies a strict approach to sanitation, with the local government determined to put an end to practices that contribute to blocked drainage, public health hazards, and environmental degradation.
