The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has officially designated Olatunji Fatai as the new Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, following the reassignment of Moshood Jimoh to Zone 2, Lagos, after his recent promotion.
This information was shared in a statement on Tuesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Anthony Placid, who highlighted that these redeployments are part of ongoing efforts to enhance the operational effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force.

In addition to Fatai’s appointment, several other Commissioners of Police have been reassigned to important state commands. Notably, Muhammed Sanusi Ahmed will lead the Federal Capital Territory Command, while Haruna Alaba Yahaya, Olugbenga Ayodeji Abimbola, and Olubode Ojajuni will take over in Jigawa, Oyo, and Ogun states, respectively.
Other appointments include Michael Adegoroye Falade to Ekiti, Yakubu Useni Dankaro to Adamawa, Morkwap S. Dongshal to Taraba, Ahmed Mohammed Bello to Zamfara, Umar Ali Fagge to Katsina, and Hayatu Shaffa Hassan to Sokoto State Command.
The statement also indicated that several senior officers were assigned to key departments and units, including INTERPOL, the Special Protection Unit, various FCID Annex offices, and police training institutions across the nation.
The IGP urged all assigned officers to apply their extensive experience in their new roles while upholding the highest levels of professionalism, discipline, and commitment to their duties.
