In a significant step toward technology-driven policing, the Lagos State Police Command has activated CCTV Surveillance Control Room aimed at strengthening security across Lagos Island and its surrounding environment.

đź”— Join Our ChannelThe facility was inaugurated on Wednesday, 14 January, 2026, under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh.
The initiative was designed to support proactive crime prevention and the protection of lives and properties. It provides real-time surveillance of strategic locations, including the Third Mainland Bridge, adjoining waterways, and other critical points in the Island.
According to the Police Command, the surveillance centre was built and fully equipped by the Federal Government of Nigeria through the Ministry of Works, under the supervision of the Minister, Engr. Dave Umahi.
The facility also functions as Control Room 5 and operates 24 hours daily, manned by well-trained officers to ensure swift, intelligence-led responses to security threats.
To further enhance operational efficiency, two operational vehicles were handed over to the Command on Friday, January 16, 2026, in order to strengthen mobility and rapid response capabilities.
The Lagos State Police Command has also called on members of the public to remain vigilant and collaborate with the police to report suspicious activities through the Command’s emergency lines: 0706 101 9374, 0806 515 4338, 0806 329 9264, 0803 934 4870.
