Lagos State Government flags 176 illegal estates, gives 21-days ultimatum to process layout approvals

The Lagos State Government has flagged 176 estate developments as illegal, primarily situated in the Eti-Osa, Ajah, Ibeju-Lekki, and Epe regions.

An official announcement from the Office of Physical Planning in Lagos, shared via X (formerly Twitter), states that the developers have been given a 21-day deadline to secure layout approvals from the government.

These estates are deemed illegal for not acquiring the necessary layout approvals from the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.

According to Engineer Oluwole Sotire, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry of physical planning and Urban development Lagos state, these unauthorized developments undermine the sustainable development principles and the “THEME Agenda” of the Lagos State Government.

Some of the identified illegal estates include Adron Homes Elerangbe, Aina Gold Estate, Okun-Folu, Diamond Estate, Prime Water View Garden, Ikate Elegushi, and Royal View Estate, among others listed by the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.
