The shop owner reportedly stated that the products were supplied by a door-to-door sales agent but could not provide proof of purchase or traceable documentation.
NAFDAC confirmed that the products are unregistered and have not met required regulatory standards for safety, quality, and effectiveness.
The agency has since removed the products from circulation and stated that investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend those involved in their distribution.
NAFDAC is urging members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspected sale of substandard or falsified regulated products. Reports can be made to the nearest NAFDAC office, via phone on 0800-162-3322, or by email at sf.alert@nafdac.gov.ng.
