No attempt to poison President Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga says

Presidential aide Bayo Onanuga has denied allegations that a kitchen staff member at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa was apprehended for attempting to poison President Bola Tinubu. Onanuga provided this clarification on Sunday, March 1, responding to a viral video that included a narrative about a supposed security breach involving a presidential chef.

The video claimed, “Today we delve into reports regarding the startling arrest of a presidential chef for an alleged plot to poison President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This incident has prompted a swift response from a specialized police unit and increased security measures around the presidential area. Initial security reports indicated that the arrest followed intelligence about unusual activities related to food preparation in restricted zones of presidential operations.

“Authorities reacted swiftly after credible reports suggested a potential threat to the president’s safety, resulting in a coordinated investigation by security forces responsible for national leadership protection. Officials stated that the operation was handled discreetly and professionally to prevent public alarm while addressing all possible risks.”

The video continued with details about the suspect, a member of the kitchen staff assigned to presidential services, who was reportedly taken in for questioning as investigators began to look into the allegations of poisoning.
