After the break, Ikorodu City gradually grew into the game, showing more attacking intent and composure in midfield. Their persistence finally paid off in the 83rd minute when T. Oyedokun calmly converted from the penalty spot to level the score after a Bayelsa defender was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the area.

Despite late pressure from both sides, neither could find a winner as the match ended in a well-balanced 1–1 draw.

The result means Ikorodu City bounced back strongly from their previous home draw, while Bayelsa United will be disappointed not to have secured maximum points in front of their fans.
