The Oluwo Afobaje of Labosinde has decorated Oba Rashidi Ladoja with Akoko leaves, formally recognizing him as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland in a ceremony steeped in tradition at the Labosinde Compound, Oja’ba, Ibadan.

The Akoko leaf decoration, a sacred symbol of legitimacy and authority in Ibadan’s chieftaincy customs, was performed in line with long-standing cultural rites.
The event was preceded by the ritual opening of the clash—a compulsory step in the enthronement process.

Following the decoration, Oba Ladoja proceeded to the Osemeji shrine, located opposite the Labosinde Compound, where additional traditional rites were observed to complete the process.
The monarch arrived in grand style, conveyed in a white limousine, accompanied by members of the Olubadan-in-Council, respected Ibadan warlords (Oloroso), as well as his immediate and extended family members, underscoring the significance of the occasion.
