According to Trump, al-Minuki was considered the global second-in-command of the Islamic State and one of the most active terrorists before his demise in the joint operation.
The US President revealed that he personally authorized the mission, which was executed through a well-orchestrated partnership between US troops and the Nigerian Armed Forces.
“Tonight, at my request, courageous American forces and the Nigerian military successfully executed a carefully planned and complex mission to remove the most active terrorist from the battlefield. Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, second in command of ISIS…” Trump stated.

Trump also commended the Nigerian government and military for their collaboration during the operation, calling it a significant victory in the global fight against terrorism.
Security analysts suggest that this operation might represent a significant breakthrough in efforts to dismantle extremist networks in Africa, especially in the Sahel and West African regions, which have been plagued by ongoing terrorist threats.
As of this report, Nigerian defense authorities have not yet issued an official statement with more details about the operation or the specific location where it took place.
