In contrast, the Flying Eagles, under the guidance of Coach Aliyu Zubair, have had to dig deep. A 1-1 draw with Ghana in the opener raised questions, but the boys answered emphatically with a 4-1 win over Benin Republic.

Coach Aliyu Zubair, already riding high from last year’s triumph, could become the first Flying Eagles coach to win back-to-back WAFU B titles. With WAFU B President Ibrahim Gusau and other football dignitaries set to attend, the final carries prestige and promise.

Nigeria will likely adopt a compact midfield approach, aiming to control possession and release Kpangu on the flanks, while Abdullahi operates from deep. Zubair’s emphasis on discipline and structure could counter Ivory Coast’s high-octane attack.

The Young Elephants, however, thrive on quick transitions and high pressing, looking to catch opponents off-guard. Their technical style and flair in the final third have been difficult for teams to contain, but Nigeria’s organized defense will be their sternest test yet.
