During a National Council of State meeting at the State House in Abuja, President Tinubu emphasized that Amupitan’s appointment was merit-based and highlighted his established reputation for fairness.

In a statement from his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President pointed out that Amupitan is the first individual from Kogi State in North-Central Nigeria to be nominated for this crucial electoral role.
The Council of State, which comprises current and former leaders, unanimously supported the nomination, commending Amupitan’s integrity and dedication to justice.
